Occupational Categories

​

ICEF is authorized to sponsor programs in the following occupational fields:

 

  • Arts and Culture

  • Hospitality and Tourism

  • Information Media and Communications

  • Management, Business, Commerce and Finance

  • Public Administration and Law

  • Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics & Industrial Occupations​​

Prohibited Activities

Interns and Trainees are prohibited from engaging in certain activities including, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Casual, manual, and unskilled labor

  • Roles that require more than 20% clerical work

  • Unauthorized employment (including second jobs) at an organization not listed on the Form DS-2019

  • Roles that fill a labor or employment need for the host organization

  • Roles that should be filled by a regular (U.S.) employee

  • Programs that do not meet FLSA requirements

  • Roles that receive commission-based compensation

  • Activities that endanger the Intern/Trainee’s health, safety, or welfare

  • All activities outlined in 22 C.F.R. § 62 Appendix E
